TEACHING
For many years education has been a widely-used and reliable method to reach the lost with the gospel. Because mastering the English language has become a highly desirable skill, it is our goal to use teaching English as a second language to share the gospel and to help local Christian schools establish or improve a solid English program.
In this area of ministry we look for individuals willing to serve the Lord overseas for an extended period of time. A minimum two-year commitment is preferable in order to facilitate and develop an effective program in the Christian schools. A teaching degree is a preference, but not a requirement. Teachers are responsible for raising their monthly support; this can usually be done within six months. Because we understand that this process can be challenging, MADEL will guide teachers through it by assisting with all the plans prior to arrival and the legal paper work once in the country. Our desire is to help with legal expenses and airfare.
Most schools in Latin America start their academic year at the beginning of March and finish in mid-December. This allows our teachers to visit their families for Christmas break and for a few weeks in June and July.
