MISSION TRIPS
Mission trips are certainly a great boost and support to local ministries and a great experience for those participating. If you are a pastor, school principal, church leader, or someone with the desire to organize and participate in a trip overseas, MADEL can help.
MADEL helps with coordinating events and with all the planning prior to the trip, using our experience to get the best prices in airfare, insurance, transportation, and room and board. We then work alongside you to coordinate events and optimize the use of your team’s time and resources.
The team will primarily work alongside the missionary instead of following him. We want to make this event a life-changing experience for your team by allowing your team members to work rather than simply observe, staying away from the idea of “missionary-tourism”. We not only want your team to be encouraged by seeing what the Lord can do through a missionary, we also want every participant to know that they are equally capable of doing the same things so that the burden or willingness they may experience overseas is attainable at home.
Our philosophy is to make a mission trip the beginning of a journey instead of a one-time trip. Our desire is for those participating in the mission trips to see and witness how they can be used by God instead of only seeing how God is using someone else.
MADEL hosts missions trips with four different emphases:
1. English Education
ESL mission trips will travel to many schools around the area and have the opportunity to teach classes from
elementary to high school. They will focus on teaching proper pronunciation, vocabulary, reading comprehension,
and basic conversations. In previous years, teams have had the opportunity to attend camp with the students and build
relationships with them. This gives the team a chance to minister to the children not only educationally but also
spiritually.
2. Theological
Theological missions teams are for those who are interested in ministry, from serving in a church to planting a church
or working on the mission field. They will have the opportunity to help host conferences, help with seminary classes,
assist in churches, and reach out to people in the community.
3. Medical
Medical missions trips will help host campaigns at local schools, churches, and poor areas around Peru. By hosting
these campaigns they are helping the local churches and Christian schools gain contact with those around their area,
which in return allows them to reach many more with the gospel.
4. General
General missions trips are for those who want a little of everything. They can participate in teaching at a school, helping
with medical campaigns, assisting in churches, and helping with MADEL conferences.
