EDUCATION (ESL)
The demand to know English is increasing in Latin-America. In fast-growing and developing societies, the professional world daily demands more qualifications of their employees. It is now common for employers to demand fluency in English and many companies require their employees to enroll in English classes. The growing demand for English fluency has greatly impacted schools and the academic preparation that they must provide. Thirty years ago, schools offering English programs were considered exclusive; today, schools without an English program are insufficient. Therefore, in the last two decades the number of Academies or institutions that teach English privately after school has increased greatly.
Teaching English as a second language is an open door to reach the lost with the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is also a great way to empower and support a local ministry, school, or institution by setting a higher academic standard. Most of the academies and institutions have an emphasis on grammar only. Through the participation of English-speakers, we offer an emphasis on phonics which is a significant advantage. Helping to set a higher academic standard allows the educational ministries to improve not only their academics but also their enrollment and therefore their outreach.
Goals for Educational Outreach
- To reach out to the community with the gospel
- To empower and support national institutions by setting a higher academic standard
- To help local churches with English classes for their members and families
Goal 1. To reach out to the community with the gospel
In coordination with the participating institution, we teach English in conjunction with evangelistic activities.
Goal 2. To empower and support national institutions by setting a higher academic standard
With the help of mission teams and native English speakers, we provide intensive ESL sessions with a traditional philosophy of education. By bringing native English speakers and interns for intensive sessions on phonics, we help institutions develop their program and identify areas where improvement is needed.
Goal 3. To help local churches with English classes for their members and families
In coordination with the pastor and church leadership we can organize English classes for the church members and their families. In each church our objective is to train a church member to conduct this ministry and coordinate intensive English classes to reach the community with the Gospel.
